Towcestrians Hockey Club was founded in 1978, creating a platform for women in Towcester to participate in and enjoy the sport of field hockey. Over the years, the club has grown, fostering a strong sense of community and sportsmanship among its members. Through dedication and teamwork, the club has experienced successes in local leagues and tournaments, contributing to the overall development of hockey in the region.
In a significant milestone, Towcestrians Hockey Club moved back to Towcestrians Sports Club when the Astro turf facility was built in 2021. This state-of-the-art addition provided a dedicated space for the club to flourish. With the introduction of the Astro turf, the club expanded its horizons, expanding to a full junior section, fostering young talent and instilling a love for hockey early on.
The club's growth didn't stop there. Embracing inclusivity, Towcestrians Hockey Club witnessed the expansion of its men's section, attracting players who shared the club's values of skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Additionally, the establishment of a mixed section further highlighted the club's commitment to offering opportunities for players of all genders to engage in the sport, contributing to a diverse and thriving hockey community within Towcester and the surrounding areas.
